Our main Services

At our Community Centre in Coals Gap, St David's, we run an after school club for under 15 year olds. It costs $1 per day for each child. We provide a light snack, homework help, swimming lessons, mentoring and much more!

Every Easter break we host a Children's Camp for under 15 year olds. It is 2 weeks of fun filled activities including field trips. This takes place at our Community Centre in Coals Gap, St David's.

Every Summer break we host a Children's Camp for under 15 year olds. It is 4 weeks of fun filled activities including field trips. This takes place at our Community Centre in Coals Gap, St David's.

What are we about?

Elvira’s Garden Youth Centre welcomes all children between 3 and 15 years old.

Promoting positivity, equality, strength, loyalty and growth, we strive to support childhood development and the transition into adulthood in four key ways:

HEALTH & WELL BEING

Raising nutritional awareness

Discussing and exercising      mental health

Practicing environmentally  friendly habits

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS

Tutoring through homework needs and exam prep

Assistance with resumes and applications

Planning individual pathways to chosen futures.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Weekly aid to elderly or disabled neighbours

Civic responsibility

Hosting community days

SOCIALISING & FUN

Safe space for children to play    and engage outside of school

Combining educational advancement with enjoyable activities featuring specified interests

Once we gain a steady and consistent flow of Volunteers we shall be planning to start opening up on Saturdays for those children who can't access our services during the week.

Furthermore, we plan to eventually start an apprenticeship scheme and partner with schools and colleges where children and young adults can "learn on the job" as practical skills in many lines of work are vital for success. Furthermore, it will help individuals confirm their chosen careers.

We are always looking for sponsorships and donations but in the meantime we try and be creative with fundraising options.

Such as we opened a Café & Bar on the Carenage where persons can hire out the venue for parties etc. (All proceeds go back to EGYC)

We run a car wash on Sundays - this is run by 3 of our graduated EGYC members. (All proceeds go back to EGYC).
